Napa County Fire Volunteer Station 214 grand opening scheduled for Saturday

Tours will be provided

NAPA – The Napa County Fire Department (NCFD) is hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony Saturday for its new Capell Valley Fire Station Volunteer 214 located in the Berryessa Highlands community.

The event, which is open to the public and includes a station tour, is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., on Sept. 30, at 2151 Steele Canyon Road.

Attendees include Napa County Board of Supervisors Belia Ramos, Alfredo Pedroza, and Ryan Gregory, NCFD Chief Barry Biermann, and Volunteer Station Chief Sandy Storck.

“This station will provide the local residents of Berryessa Highlands and volunteer firefighters with a fire engine to respond to emergencies,” Biermann said. “It is our hope that this will also have a positive effect for property owners trying to obtain reasonable homeowners insurance.”

The project cost, including land and construction costs, is about $727,000 and was funded by NCFD.

“In a time of emergency, seconds count,” Biermann said. “Having a fire engine within the community with volunteer members of NCFD Station 214 ready to respond will increase the odds for saving lives and property.”

The Board of Supervisors and staff of Napa County are dedicated to preserving and sustaining Napa County for present and future generations as a community with generous open space, a thriving agricultural industry and a quality human and natural environment.
