PEP program has a new home, thanks to Public Works!
People Empowering People, a program of the Mental Health Division that offers peer-run support for those on the road to wellness and recovery, has a new home on Solano Avenue, thanks to the remodeling efforts of our Public Works Dept. The program moved from a temporary trailer on the Health and Human Services Campus to a comfortable, light facility with restrooms, a kitchen, a large gathering room, raised garden beds and more. Nicely done! Find out more about the PEP program.
We lose a public defender, the Superior Court gains a judge!
We are sad to see former public defender Elia Ortiz go, but we know she will be an asset to the community as a Superior Court judge in Napa County. In addition to her legal skills, she is also the first Latina judge to sit on the bench here. Judge Ortiz was sworn in earlier this month, although she officially took the oath before the new year. Congratulations! Read the Register story.
