Health Officer urges pertussis vaccine
Already in 2014, Napa County has seen more cases of pertussis (whooping cough) than in all of 2013 (43 so far, versus 13 last year). The best defense, says Public Health Officer Dr. Karen Smith, is vaccination, especially for pregnant women in their third trimester and those who care for infants.

New signage will help in wayfinding
It happens all the time - folks wandering around the downtown "superblock," wondering which building is the Superior Court, which is the County Administration Building and "where do I go to get a marriage license?" New wayfinding signage outside the County administration building will help those visitors navigate all the County's downtown departments and services, including those housed in the Carithers Building on First Street. Check out the new signs next time you're downtown!
