Shooting near Lake Berryessa


(NAPA, Calif.--) Today agents from Napa Special Investigations Bureau (NSIB) were investigating two marijuana grows at the north end of Lake Berryessa.

            At about 12:50 p.m., they radioed in that shots had been fired and a suspect was down as a result of a shot fired by a member of the NSIB team. The suspect was confirmed by medical personnel at the scene to be deceased.

            SWAT teams are en route to search the marijuana grow for any armed people. No officers have been injured. Responding agencies include Napa County Sheriff, Sonoma County Sheriff, California Highway Patrol, Napa PD and SWAT. No additional details are available at this time.

The Napa County Sheriff's Office now has an online crime map called RAIDS Online (www.raidsonline.com) that maps and analyzes crime data, alerts Napa County citizens about crimes in their area, and allows the Sheriff's Office to quickly alert the public about crimes as they occur.
