These individuals receive special training on firearms safety and instruction. They are responsible for ensuring that all members of the department receive monthly training in the use of deadly force. Monthly training is held at the Sheriff's Range. Buildings are constructed and courses of fire set up to simulate true life situations that a deputy might encounter on the street. Night shoots are held frequently. Deputies shoot their issued sidearm (Currently a .40 cal. Sig-Sauer), as well the Department shotgun (Remington 870), and AR - 15. Rangemasters and Tactical Team members train and employ the .45 Colt, Kimber sidearm while working in their assignments.
