According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 1 in 4 Americans has a sexually transmitted infection (STI), also referred to as STD. Often people do not know they have an STI because many do not have noticeable symptoms.
STIs can have negative and long-lasting effects on your health. Depending on the type of infection, there are different treatments available.
Low-cost testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) including HIV, chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis are offered at the STI Clinic. Education and counseling on STI prevention and management is available. Clinics are held at the Public Health Office in Napa.
If you are sexually active it is a good idea to talk to your partner(s) about STIs and consider testing whether or not you have symptoms.
