The Napa County Victim/Witness Assistance Program works to reduce the trauma, frustration and inconvenience experienced by victims, witnesses, and family members affected by crime. We do this by providing a wide variety of services to victims of crime and their families, in addition to supporting victims and witnesses throughout the criminal justice process.
We offer help with:
Crime victim compensation
Domestic violence and sexual assault
Elder and dependent adult abuse
From the District Attorney:
“No one in our society asks to be a victim or witness, yet it happens every day. Our office is dedicated to assisting victims of crime with the physical, emotional and financial injuries caused by crime; and to improve the criminal justice system’s treatment of victims in the process. We are committed to helping crime victims and their families reorganize and reclaim their lives. We do so by informing victims of their legal rights and how to exercise those rights, as well as linking them to other local and state services including compensation for their losses and counseling to empower and heal through their journey. It is my hope that we can help you better understand and get through this difficult time in your life.”
